| The barrel trimmer is
an extremely useful
tool used to square up the ends of your pen blacks after
the brass tubes have been glued inside the pen blank.
The long rod fits inside the tube (which acts as a
support and guide) and allows you to cut away excess
wood until you reach the edge of the brass pen tube.
These trimmers can be used in a drill press, hand drill,
etc. Interchangeable shafts are available
for the various sized pen tubes. Both barrel
trimmer's (1/2" & 3/4") are sold separately and the
different size pilot shafts must also be ordered
separately. Please order by part number to avoid
any confusion. |

Interchangeable Barrel Trimmer Pilot Shafts
Please be aware that the shaft
diameter (the portion of the pilot shaft that goes
through and is retained by the trimmer head) is 3/16" in
diameter.
Since these pilot shafts have a 3/16" diameter
shaft they may not work with other trimmer heads sold by
other suppliers. Our pilot shafts will fit the CSUSA cutter heads. |

Pen Mill Sleeves
We now
carry Delrin sleeves to assist in trimming the
wood on the El Grande rollerball, fountain and
ballpoint pens, the Churchill style pens, the
upper barrel Baron/Sedona pens and the
Sierra pen. The sleeves come pre-drilled
with a 7mm hole which allows the use of a 7mm
pilot shaft. As pictured above, the
Delrin sleeve slips into the brass tube, a
barrel trimmer with a 7mm pilot shaft is
inserted and trimming can begin.
The El Grande / Churchill and the El Toro
/ El Presidente sleeves are sold as a
pair - one for the large tube and one for the
smaller tube. Each pair is priced at
$4.95. The Sierra and Baron/Sedona sleeve is a single unit
and is priced at $3.50.

This handy little tool removes the hard 90
degree edge found inside the pen tubes and is used prior to
assembly. Once you are at the point of assembly you take
the pointed end of this tool, insert it into each end of each
pen tube and twist - the cutting edges will bevel the edges of
the tubes. The beveled edge aids in assembly and guides
the tip, transmission, end caps as well as the upper barrel onto
the lower barrel (transmission) without having to worry about
galling or shaving the plating from the parts. I
demonstrate how simple this tool is to use in my video. |

The outside of the pen tubes can also be
chamfered. In the event you experience a 'blown' blank the
tube can be salvaged by trimming off the remaining wood
and glue. In most cases a small ridge if brass will be
found on each end of the tube which is a result of the cutting
action caused by your pen mill. Insert the tube into the
three-legged end of the chamfering tool, twist and the ridge is
gone. |

This tool is made of hardened steel and it will last you a
lifetime. I personally have one of these tools and it has
chamfered well over 10,000 pieces of rifle and pistol brass
cases over the past thirty years. Once you try it I know
that it will become an absolute necessity in your pen tool

Drill Clamp
| This is the same type of clamp that I
use and demonstrate in my pen turning video. It is
very simple to use and I have used this type of clamp to
drill hundreds of pen blanks. The clamp is made from
hard poplar and will give you years of use if you don't abuse
it. Price is $14.95. You'll notice that I am
drilling over a piece of plywood. I do this to keep
the bottom of the pen blank from blowing out when the drill
exits the blank. I recommend the use of a waste board
when drilling any material. |
